Best Outcomes / Better Outcomes / Good Outcomes
A friend of mine recently started a business focused on real estate development. His girlfriend recently started a business as a stylist.
On a recent trip to Washington, DC we were talking about goals and goal setting and how his business was doing. He shared that before each meeting and before each quarter (or any timeframe) he would set anticipated outcomes.
They would fall into the category of: Best Outcome / Better Outcome / Good Outcome
For example, if someone were meeting with an investor about building a property, the outcomes might be:
- Best Outcome: Investor commits $X in funding today
- Better Outcome: We discuss and he wants to followup in a week but verbally agree
- Good Outcome: He isn’t interested but knows of people who would be
When having a conversation with friends and family, shopping or anywhere. When you frame the results and outline success, you are more likely to achieve your goals, whatever they may be.
